Colorado trip!

I don’t believe it ever crossed my mind growing up that there would come a time in my life that I would obsess over the size, shape and shininess of my nails.  It’s made me start watching TV again just so that I can have something to keep me entertained while I do my nails.  Totally worth it though.  After accepting the blow to my masculinity I can really appreciate the tone that comes out of these nails when paired with a fresh set of steal strings.
Anyhooglebees, I said in a previous blog entry I would post details on the Banjola Festival as well as the mountain dulcimer workshop I would be doing after the Banjola Festival.
For details on the Banjola Festival CLICK HERE
Details on the dulcimer workshop are as follows...

WORKSHOP 1 (1:30-2:45)
Composing and arranging for the mountain dulcimer- Whether you can play three or three hundred notes per minute, regardless of technical ability, writing your own music can be very fulfilling AND very approachable. We’ll talk about ideas for inspiring creativity as well as how to optimize your composition to fit the dulcimer fretboard.

MINI CONCERT (2:50-3:10)
FREE for anyone attending one of the workshops.

WORKSHOP 2 (3:15-4:30)
Subtle Tricks- Perhaps there’s a dulcimer player you’d like to sound more like. Maybe you’ve learned a few arrangements of theirs and you wonder, "how come I don’t sound like them when I know I’m playing the same notes?" There are many left and right hand "tricks" that many times go unnoticed but are often the driving force behind someone’s drive, tone, or lilt that they have in their playing. Having these subtle tricks under your belt can broaden the scope of your creativity and give you greater control of your own playing.

COST: $25 for one workshop. $40 for both.  Concert is FREE

LOCATION: The Art Underground in Louisville, CO.
