It never ceases to amaze me the things I see on road trips.  There were two today that were simply beautiful.  A double rainbow of the boldest intensity and cloud perfectly shrouding a mountain like a giant head of broccoli covered in mold as I crossed into North Carolina.  One thing that REALLY got my attention though was a store somewhere not far from the Florida/Georgia border called GAMES-VIDEOS-JESUS #3.  I’m still trying to make sense of that.
Today I made my merry way to Cullowhee, NC where I’m attending a week long workshop to learn about dulcimer roots and how they relate to the European ancestors, the hummel and scheitholt.  Good times.  Anyhooglebees, somewhere just after I passed Macon, GA the whole car started shaking.  Not in a “hey it’s a crazy shaking dance party” kind of way but more of a “we’re all gonna die if you don’t get off the road now” kind of way.
Just so happens that about a mile down the road was an Exxon station where the friendly people let me wait in the one shady spot for AAA and the only other thing this town had to offer was a gigantic, mammoth water slide in what appeared to be right in the middle of a junk yard.  After taking a closer look I guessed the the water slide was indeed made of random things from the junk yard that were conducive  to sliding.  Surprisingly, there were a lot of people utilizing this big attraction in this small town.
So between the mountain, the rainbows, the jesus store, and the town “waterpark” I’d have to say the water slide in the middle of the junk yard has been the most incredible spectacle on this trip so far.
Oh yeah and I got my car fixed.  THANK YOU AUNT SUE FOR GETTING ME AAA!
