Acoustic Oasis and The Trio

You may or may not have noticed that I look a bit like George W. Bush in this painting.  Mickey looks a bit like a gremlin.  And Mike as usual just looks real cool.  It’s amazing how quickly I digress....
That watercolor was painted by our friend Adam Hurst and used as the backplate to the Aaron O’Rourke Trio recording that came out November 2007.  That same trio cd is now part of, what I think is one of coolest new resources for acoustic music on the internet today.  A new branch of David Grisman’s record label Acoustic Disc, The Oasis is a library of recordings, some only available in digital format exclusively from Acoustic Oasis, that range from vintage recordings of historical importance such as Giovanni Gioviale - Italian Mandolin & Banjo Classics, out- of-print gems like jazzmaster Don Stiernberg’s Mandolin Restaurant and new Oasis recordings like Slapback by mandolin whiz-kid Josh Pinkham and his grandfather, Texas swing legend Jerry Thomasson.  And of course a whole slew from Grisman’s extensive career and the not so extensive career of yours truly (Me).
Needless to say I’m excited to be in good company and be a part of Acoustic Oasis.  Click the banner below to go there now...
